What is Phenolphthalein?
Phenolphthalein is a white to light yellow crystal powder that is odorless, soluble in water, but soluble in alcohol. It is widely used as a pH indicator in chemical laboratories, turning pink into red in alkaline solutions (pH>8.3) and colorless under acidic or neutral conditions.
It is also a raw material medicine, which acts as a laxative agent, and acts on the colon and is used to treat constipation.
