Applications
- Benzotriazole is mainly used as a water treatment agent, metal rust inhibitor, and corrosion inhibitor. Benzotriazole is one of the most effective corrosion inhibitors for copper and copper alloys in cooling water systems
- Benzotriazole is used in rust proof oil (grease) products, mainly as a gas-phase corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys, circulating water treatment agent, automotive antifreeze, photographic anti fog agent, polymer stabilizer, plant growth regulator, lubricant additive, UV absorber, etc. This product can also be used in combination with various scale inhibitors, fungicides, and algaecides.
- Used for surface purification of silver, copper, and zinc in electroplating, it has anti discoloration effect. Benzotriazole (BTA) forms covalent and coordination bonds with copper atoms, often replacing each other to form chain like polymers. A multi-layer protective film is formed on the surface of copper, preventing oxidation-reduction reactions and hydrogen gas generation, and providing corrosion protection.
